Count Your Many Blessings....

I've been in a weird mood this week...

I wont get into the gory details, but there have been several things that have happened to me this week that have really made me stop and think just how absolutely blessed I am. From watching the news and learning more and more about the devastation in Haiti, to being shown how absolutely wonderful my parents are, and the importance of always appreciating them, to seeing how lives can be changed in an instant...whew, it's been a week...let me tell ya.

I don't say it enough, how appreciative and thankful I am for the things in my life. I don't show it enough either. I really am thankful for everything in my life, but a lot of times I get so caught up in day to day things that before I know it, minutes have turned into days, and days into weeks, the time has started to go by so quickly and I finally realize that I haven't shown an ounce of appreciation for the people and things I care about most in my life. So that's what I'm going to do now...I want to show you, my many readers...haha...:-) the things that are most important in my life, and the things that I am MOST thankful for.

1. The love, mercy, grace, faithfulness, friendship, and trust that I have in my Creator. After a week like I've had, being able to rest in His presence, is definitely what I am most thankful for. He is my breath of fresh air, and knowing that He loves me, no matter how foolish I act sometimes....well, it's EXACTLY what I need. (Funny how He knows just what I need, right when I need it.)

2. My wonderful, amazing, fantastic parents...who despite my...um, nasty
attitude sometimes, still love me and always have my best interest at heart.
Here they are...aren't they cute!?!? My daddy, would do anything in this world for me, and I love him so much I can hardly stand it. He's been making me laugh for 22 years now, and he's the best at it. My momma, she loves me so much that she will do whatever it takes to help make me a better person, and a better mother to Christian. I love and appreciate them so much, and I need to show them more often, exactly how much they mean to me.

3. My husband. Chris and I have absolutely been through it all. God has sustained our marriage and put us in so much better of a place than I ever thought we could be in. He is working hard to take care of us, and will be leaving for Basic Training in March to serve our wonderful country. I am so incredibly proud of him and the sacrifice he will be making to give us a better life and to make a difference in this world. I love him more and more everyday. :-) This is my drop dead gorgeous husband and my sweet little baby Christian, when he was 9 weeks old. I could just eat them up!

4. One of the things I feel like I'm most blessed by, is my little boy. He is my whole entire world. God hand picked this child to be a part of our family. He knew exactly who we needed to make our little family perfect, and needless to say, He did a great job. Christian is a funny, sweet, angel of a child, who completes my heart. Chris and I have talked about having another child eventually, but I don't know how it's possible to love someone else like I love this little boy. He is the breath in my lungs and I adore every second with him. I am truly thankful for this wonderful gift God has given me in a son.

5. And lastly, I've been blessed with a fantastic family that I was fortunate enough to marry into! These people, are an absolute blast to be around, and they will stick by their family no matter what. I love them all so much! God brought us all together for a reason, and I'm thankful for that everyday! (I'm confident that one of those reasons is so they can teach me how to cook the most amazing Italian food you've ever had in your life!) Aren't we cute!?!?

Family is the most important thing in life. I love all of my family so much, and I'm really going to try harder to show each and every one of them how much I truly appreciate everything they do for us, and for how much they love us. They deserve that at least....they are the greatest family in the world. :-)

Well, I don't know about you, but I feel better. This whole blogging thing is kinda therapeutic.

So, anywho, I'm going to try and be crafty on my next blog...should be interesting. Won't wanna miss that one!

2010...Here We Come!

Well, I did it! I decided to start one of these blogs...I really hope I can keep up with it. This year, I started reading some blogs and have been truly inspired by the things that have been written. There are several of you, who in one way or another, have changed my life because of the things you've blogged about. It seems pretty therapeutic, so I thought I'd give it a try. (I'm really excited!)

Well, 2009 went by in a HURRY! Our little family had some fantastic things happen this year and we are extremely grateful for the blessing we've been given. We are very excited for this new year and to see what the Lord has in store for us. So, before I get started, a quick update:

My husband, Chris, and I, have been married for 3 years in January. We have a wonderful little boy named Christian, and he is the absolute light of my life. Right now, I'm working at a hospital in the Mother/Baby Unit while I try and finish up nursing school...slowly but surely. :-) Chris recently enlisted in the Army and will be leaving for Basic Training in late March. I'm sure that will be a sad time for our family, but I'm very proud of my husband for what he has decided to do, and will continue to support his decisions.

Christian is 2 years old, going on 16. He is quickly becoming a little boy/young man, right before my very eyes, and it's making me a nervous wreck! Each and every day I'm seeing how every little thing that he soaks up is going to determine the person he will eventually become. Chris and I are trying to raise him to be a good boy, with a good heart, and most importantly, a young man who loves the Lord above all else. (While making our relationships with Lord stronger in the process...lotta hard work going on in the Owsley household!)

I'm looking forward to getting this blogging thing going...I hope the things that I go through and share will be as inspiring as the things that you all have shared with me.
