Little of this...little of that....

Chris, Christian, and I have been having a GREAT time in Colorado. The moutains are beautiful, the people are nice...except the drivers...and there is SO much to do. Our first adventure was to go to downtown Colorado Springs. We found some neat places, but my favorite place was a thrift shop...a humongous amazing thrift shop that had all kinds of awesome stuff in it. I did a little shopping for the apartment, and here's what I came up with!

I loved this old barnwood frame...but once I got it home, I couldn't really decide what to do with it. We have a large wall over the couch that didn't have anything on it, so I decided to take some framed pictures and frame them. :-) I'm pretty happy with it!

I got this watering tin and had planned on using it as a centerpiece on our table, but it ended up being too big. So it's found it's home here on the bakers rack for now...think it would be really pretty with some bright red flowers in it....hint hint hubby. :-)

I've been dying for some white dishes, and we found these really cheap at Big Lots. :-) I used a gift card I had at Kohls to get the place mats, napkin holders, and rings. I'd be much happier with a black or white table....maybe I'll get brave one day and paint it!

Our next adventure in CO, was a trip to the aquarium in Denver....here are a few of our favorite photos from our trip: (The cute baby is our friends' Chris and Kayla...he's so sweet, and Christian LOVES him!)

Well, look at that friends. Two posts within a 7 day period. I'm on a roll! :-) Have a blessed week...I'll check back in soon!

New Year's Resolutions

Let me just start off by saying, that I've never stuck to a New Year's Resolution. EVER. I'm terrible. I'm definitely one of those people that hog the treadmill machines the first month into the year and then you never see me again at the gym. I know it's terrible, and I'm sorry! BUT, this year...things will be different. The only resolution that I'm making this year, is to blog. Through reading other people's blogs, I've learned what a gift it can be to your children...for them to be able to go back and read what was going on in your family when they were young. It seems like it can be pretty therapeutic for some people...and I have a feeling I'm gonna need some therapy this year! :-)

Quick update...since it's been a year...:-)

Chris joined the army, graduated from basic and ait, and now we're at his first duty station in Ft. Carson, CO. We love it here so far! It's beautiful! It's cold, and kinda snowy, but it's so pretty. I'm really looking forward to when it warms up and we can explore the city and go hiking in the mountains. It should be pretty exciting! One of the things that I'm not too excited about....is that Chris is getting deployed this Summer to Afghanistan. We don't know exact dates yet, but it will probably be sometime in June. I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not Christian and I will stay in Colorado when he deploys, or if we'll go back to KY. I hate to move Christian around when we don't really have to...not to mention the expense of moving across the country. We have a few months to decide. I'm hoping to find a job and meet some good people while we're here. Christian will be starting preschool here soon, and I've already met a few friends. :-) It's been a really good experience for us being on our own. I can already tell Chris and I have gotten closer, and Christian is LOVING having his daddy around. We're some pretty happy campers!

Well, that's all I'm going to write for tonight...I'll be back soon, PROMISE! :-)
